i think there should be housing, its possibly one of the best things about UO that other games dont have. also that banks can only except gold i think there needs to be some degree of item security.

housing rules -
there should be decay levels
no locked down items or secure containers
anyone with the key to your house can loot it completely

there was a system like this in pre-t2a

anyone agree on this?

I think the map is too small for placeable houses. But we are currently working on a town-house system, where you can rent a house or a room. We will take your wishes into consideration. Naturally.

That would be great. There are A LOT of houses in Britain which lack the owners. Some houses are suitable for guildhouses as well.

The system we are currently working on will likely involve the following:
  • Rooms/Houses/Homes can be rented not owned.
  • No lock downs or secure containers.
  • Items will not decay
  • Only thing protecting your items is the house key. Lose that and you'll have to seek down the towns locksmith and request another. In the meantime someone with your key can be looting your items!
  • Some rentalable houses will be in town, some out of town. Rent cost varies.
It is possible by the time this is in effect some of these features will not be available and some may be added.

Nice. A small suggestion. Like if we could hire knights/mercenaries NPCs who would protect your houses in case somebody sneaks in or something...for money of course. Just an idea guys, I know it aint hard to make an NPC insta attack intruders except the owner and/or trusted ppl/co-owners. I like the concept idea so far, btw.

Also, it would be nice that any introder would automatically become crim, so that if he is being attacked and he decides to run, guards could also help catch the thief :P Makes sense.

Entirely era inaccurate if you look at the first appearance of housing in UO.

Making someone grey for entering a house is very much a Trammelite mindset, as that mechanic was added during UO:R.

If you really want to keep your things secure, just make an alt named "Mr Bank" or "Tom Banks" or whathaveyou and have him hold your other characters stuff for you.

It's Science

Please pick one point of view and stick with it, or begone, knave!

I forgive you.
